SUMMARY:Webinaire UATCM sur la décarbonation
DESCRIPTION:Decarbonization for the Coatings industry is one of the main to
pics for the next years\, and UATCM\, which AFTPVA is a member with the It
alian and Portuguese Associations\, proposes a free webinar with suppliers
as to propose the technologies for decreasing the Carbon Foot Print\, and
a Consultant to present the strategic options.\nProgramme\nIndustry decar
bonization as one of the key business issues for 20 years to come\nSpeaker
 : Irina PASCUTTO\, Associate Partner\, PMP STRATEGY\n\nThe chemicals are g
oing through a tense market and economic context with more limited custome
r’s purchasing power\, energy and raw materials supply and cost issues.
On the top of that\, the industry is under the strong environmental pressu
re supported by numerous regulatory constraints and clients’ requests. D
ecarbonization is at the heart of these concerns\, one of the key stakes b
eing to turn the constraints into opportunities being able to finance the
R&amp\;D and environ-mental upgrades or even improve the overall profitabi
lity. To make it a success\, it is key to address the decarbonization not
only from the regulatory standpoint\, but through a business-driven approa
ch in support of the strategic decision making.\nSustainability : a practi
cal approach\nSpeaker: Dr. Luigi MORA\, R&amp\;D Group Leader\, VINAVIL Sp
A\n\nSustainability is one of the key topics for these and the forthcoming
years. The EU Political path is steering the way to a more sustainable so
ciety through legislation such as Eu Green Deal\, Taxonomy and Chemical Su
stainability Reporting Directive etc... To ensure that disclosed data and
information are transparent\, reliable and verifiable\, it is perceived th
e need to comply with recognized standards and verification by a third par
ty (super partes) that gives greater authority to one's statements or clai
ms. VINAVIL will provide practical examples of its journey towards sustain
ability and share its experience on the environmental pillar with ISCC PLU
S certification\, a voluntary scheme to certify sustainable content (recyc
led and bio-based materials) of its finished products. Then we will illust
rate our voluntary communication by means of another instrument ‘’the
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology’’ for measuring environmental
impact indicators. An overview of the LCA technique will be provided\, as
well as some examples. LCA may be then converted into Environmental Produc
t Declaration to make the assessment transparent and certified. From a tec
hnological point of view\, VINAVIL is implementing the energy management i
n its main plant by improving cogenerator efficiency and installing new ph
otovoltaic parks. Finally\, we will explore a possible comparison of envir
onmental indicators between bio and fossil products.\nSustainable solution
 s to decarbonize paints\, coatings inks\nSpeaker: Tim-Frederic SLOOT\, Hea
 d of Sustainability – Coating Additives\, EVONIK Operations\n\nEVONIK Co
ating Additives actively supports its customers to reduce the carbon footp
rint of coatings and inks with new\, sustainable solutions: mass balancing
and biosurfactants. TEGO® Wet 270 eCO and TEGO® Foamex 812 eCO are the
first two products from the Coating Additives portfolio. They are based on
the mass balance approach and allow for instant CO2 reduction in coating
and ink formulations. Mass balance involves mixing virgin fossil and renew
able or circular raw materials into existing systems and production proces
ses. The renewable amount is then allocated mathematically to specific pro
ducts. Customers receive the same\, well-known performance of the products
while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TEGO® Wet 570 Ter
ra and TEGO® Wet 580 Terra are the first wetting agents based on biosurfa
ctants to address the growing need for sustainable coating and ink formula
tions. Produced by microorganisms in a unique fermentation process\, the b
iosurfactants are derived from 100% renewables\, having a much lower produ
ct carbon footprint than classical surfactants. They combine an excellent
performance profile with great pigment and filler wetting and a very favou
rable environmental profile with very low VOC levels and EU Ecolabel compl
iance.\nFacilitating the adoption of mass balance via ISCC PLUS Certificat
 ion\nSpeaker: Manisha PANDEY\, Sustainability Manager\, SYNTHOMER plc\n\nT
his session will cover the essential steps for implementing ISCC PLUS requ
irements\, with focus on the mass balance approach. Additionally\, we will
introduce the brand tags developed at SYNTHOMER to market ISCC PLUS certi
fied products\, highlighting their role in promoting sustainability in a t
ransparent and credible way.\nA hollistic toolbox to reduce carbon footpri
nt of decorative paints\nSpeaker: Yohann TRANG\, Global Market Director
 – Construction and Architectural Coatings and Adhesives\, ARKEMA\n\nRedu
cing carbon footprint of decorative paints has become a crucial objective
and trend on the market\, to lower their environmental impact and mitigate
the effects on global warming. By reducing VOC and harmful chemicals\, in
door air quality and human health are improved. Governments and regulatory
authorities are implementing stricter environmental regulations which can
be addressed by lowering paints’ carbon footprint. Consumers are also b
ecoming more environmentally conscious and prefer products that are sustai
nable. Finally\, circular economy principles are supported\, where resourc
es are used efficiently\, waste is minimized\, and products are designed t
o have a longer lifespan. ARKEMA being strongly committed to a more sustai
nable world\, we have developed and are constantly extending our toolbox t
o tackle these challenges. Our solutions and roadmap will be highlighted d
 uring this presentation.\nConclusion\nPresentations\nSpeaker presentations
available here. Access restricted to AFTPVA members.\nInscriptions\nFree
 Compulsory Registration: https://premc.org/uatcm-2025/\nInformations prati
ques\nHours: 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm (CET time)\n\nWebinar tool : ZOOM will be
used during this meeting (tutorial). If you are not familiar with this too
l then we highly recommend testing it before the conference.\n\nLanguage:
